Welcome to Scallin Blue Safe Nest Sitters! We are a pet sitting service founded by two dedicated domestic workers, Shamiso Chimbudzi and Maureen Khumalo.
While Maureen is a silent partner supporting the vision behind the scenes, Shamiso is the driving force and mastermind behind everything you see here. From preparing the training manuals to teaching and mentoring our team members, Shamiso pours her heart and soul into every aspect of this business.

Maureen Khumalo
Hi, I'm Maureen! I'm a silent partner and co-founder of Scallin Blue Safe Nest Sitters. While I work behind the scenes supporting the business, the real credit goes to Shamiso who runs everything day to day.
I've been caring for homes and pets for over 10 years, and together with Shamiso, we built this business because we saw how hard it was for pet owners to find someone they could truly trust.
My secret? I treat every home like it's my own, and every pet like they're my family. There's nothing I love more than seeing a worried dog's tail start wagging when I walk in, or a shy cat finally coming out for cuddles.
When I'm not pet sitting, I'm supporting Shamiso in training new team members or playing with my neighbour's dogs. Animals just make everything better.
Precious Khumalo
Hi, I'm Precious! I was not working before Scallin Blue welcomed me into their team. I'm newer to pet sitting but I've always had a natural connection with animals. Growing up, we always had dogs and cats at home, and I was the one who took care of them.
Shamiso and Maureen trained me, and now I get to do what I love every day while earning an income to support my family. There's something special about earning trust from a nervous pet - that moment when they decide you're okay is the best feeling!
I'm especially good with shy animals. I have this way of sitting quietly and letting them come to me in their own time. One of my regular clients has a rescue cat who used to hide from everyone, but now she waits by the door for me!
This work means so much to me. It's not just a job - it's helping me support my family while doing something that brings me joy every single day. I'm so grateful that Scallin Blue gave me this opportunity.
Shamiso Chimbudzi
Hello! I'm Shamiso, and I'm the mastermind and co-founder behind Scallin Blue Safe Nest Sitters. I handle everything from preparing training manuals to teaching and mentoring our team members.
I've been caring for animals for as long as I can remember, and I've been pet sitting professionally for years. Along with Maureen, we founded this business to create opportunities for domestic workers like us.
I have experience with all kinds of pets - dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, you name it. Each one has their own personality, and I love getting to know them. There's Max the Labrador who needs his tennis ball thrown exactly 20 times, and Luna the Persian cat who likes her chin scratched in a very specific way!
What I'm really proud of is my experience with older pets and those needing medication. I understand how important routine and gentle care is for them. One of my favourite clients is a 15-year-old Dachshund who still gets excited for our slow, careful walks around the garden.
This work has been a blessing for me and my family. It's flexible, it's meaningful, and it lets me do what I'm truly passionate about - teaching, training, and caring for animals every single day.
